Palm Health Resources is seeking a dedicated and experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to provide exceptional care in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This opportunity offers an engaging and supportive environment for NNP professionals who are passionate about providing critical care to neonates and supporting their families. The position is designed for practitioners who are comfortable managing patients independently and have a strong background in neonatal intensive care. The role requires weekend coverage, including 12 or 24-hour shifts, ensuring continuity of care for some of the most vulnerable patients.
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) will join a collaborative team consisting of three neonatologists and a group of experienced pediatric mid-level providers. The NICU is a 16-bed unit, offering advanced care in a regional setting and an average daily census of 8-9 patients. The NNP will play a pivotal role in supervising registered nurses (RNs) and ancillary staff within the NICU, fostering a team-based approach to patient care. The presence of a neonatologist during the day and their availability on call 24/7 provides strong clinical support, while the NNP leads care delivery on shift.
This Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) role requires proficiency in a wide array of neonatal procedures, including ventilation management (both invasive and non-invasive), chest tube insertion, exchange transfusions, central and arterial line placement, and management of acute hemodynamic issues. The NNP will be responsible for attending C-sections and covering the Level I well-baby nursery during night shifts, ensuring comprehensive neonatal care across a variety of clinical scenarios. There is no requirement to transfer neonates, as a regional Level IV NICU center manages all transport protocols.
The documentation of patient care is managed through the EPIC electronic medical record system, streamlining workflow and ensuring accurate, up-to-date patient information. The ideal candidate for this Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) position will have Board Certification in Neonatology or be an experienced NICU Physician Assistant (PA), and must possess an active state license. The ability to work independently, make sound clinical decisions, and effectively supervise nursing and ancillary staff are essential attributes for success in this role.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) who is seeking a challenging and fulfilling role in a Level III NICU, with strong peer and leadership support, and a commitment to high-quality, family-centered care. If you meet the qualifications and are looking to advance your career in a dynamic NICU setting, we encourage you to apply by clicking the job application button.
