MRI Technologist (Rad Tech) - Summary
- Conducts MRI scans under the direction of radiologists and in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Ensures proper patient preparation, positioning, and comfort throughout the imaging process.
- Maintains and operates advanced MRI equipment, troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
- Documents procedures accurately and upholds patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participates in continuous education and training to remain current with industry advancements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations following established protocols and physician orders.
- Evaluate and identify patient needs, providing clear instructions and support before, during, and after procedures.
- Ensure all safety measures are followed, including screening for contraindications such as metal implants or devices.
- Utilize MRI technology efficiently while maintaining image quality and minimizing patient exposure to risk.
- Maintain accurate patient records and complete required documentation within the imaging department.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, stocking, and readiness of MRI suites and equipment.
- Stay compliant with all regulatory requirements and quality assurance protocols.
- Participate in department meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a focus on MRI or equivalent experience.
- Current and valid ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography and MRI, or eligibility for certification.
- Proven experience in conducting MRI procedures in a clinical or hospital setting.
