The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) is responsible for engaging with new and existing clients, offering tailored advice on mortgage products for home purchases, refinancing, or securing home equity lines of credit. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial options in a clear and understandable manner. As part of your daily activities, you will answer inbound calls, initiate outbound outreach, analyze financial data, recommend suitable loan products, and assist clients throughout the mortgage application process.

This position is subject to SAFE Act registration, requiring all employees involved in residential mortgage origination to register with the federal registry system and maintain good standing. Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) - Summary
- Provide expert guidance on mortgage options including home purchase, refinance, and home equity products.
- Deliver high-quality client service within a dynamic call center setting.
- Ensure compliance with all federal regulations, including SAFE Act requirements.
- Support clients from initial inquiry through to loan closing, maintaining communication and transparency throughout.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional client care by listening actively and understanding individual needs.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls to provide guidance on available mortgage products, refinancing, and home equity options.
- Analyze clients' financial and credit data to recommend the most appropriate lending solutions.
- Assist clients in completing mortgage applications, collecting all necessary documentation, and submitting applications promptly.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, referral partners, and internal teams through various channels.
- Follow established lending processes, policies, and risk management guidelines to ensure operational integrity.
- Identify opportunities to refer clients to additional banking products and services as appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year sales and mortgage experience with a focus on relationship-building and client service.
- Demonstrated ability to assess client needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor on the phone.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well in a high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours as required by client needs and business demands.
- Technical proficiency with the ability to learn and navigate multiple platform systems.
- Demonstrated ability to balance sales goals with operational risk management and client relationship care.
- Compliance with all SAFE Act registration requirements.

- Experience in a contact center or high-volume sales environment.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products, including Conventional, Jumbo, and Government loans.
- Familiarity with FHA/HUD guidelines, underwriting, processing, and closing procedures.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and suggest alternative financing solutions.
- Consultative approach to sales with strong questioning and opportunity identification skills.
- High attention to detail, critical thinking, and effective pipeline management.

- Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
- Standard work schedule is Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–7:00 PM Central, with rotating Saturdays (8:00 AM–3:30 PM). Training schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central for approximately 8 weeks (subject to change).
