As a Modeling and Simulation Engineer (AFSIM), you will be responsible for constructing, enhancing, and evaluating military models and entities of varying complexity within the Advanced Framework for Simulation Integration & Modeling (AFSIM) environment. Your expertise will support the development and execution of operationally relevant scenarios, ensuring that simulation results provide valuable insight for Department of Defense (DoD) decision makers. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including pilots, technologists, software developers, and military SMEs, all working towards advancing the mission of defense technology innovation.
Modeling and Simulation Engineer (AFSIM) - Summary- Full-time, onsite opportunity in Reston, VA with ARC Group
- Focus on Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) using AFSIM
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on defense research and technology projects

- Apply dynamic scripting techniques to define modeled entity actions and interactions
- Create and enhance operational scenarios to accurately represent engagements and outcomes
- Develop and execute MS&A study plans using AFSIM simulations
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure requirements are accurately implemented
- Analyze simulation results and prepare comprehensive study findings and presentations
- Work with agile software development teams to enhance MS&A solutions
- Coordinate with study leads and stakeholders to develop technical approaches for analysis

- U.S. Citizenship required due to sensitivity of client requirements
- Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility is required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant analysis experience
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with AFSIM for scenario and model development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to apply scientific methods to MS&A projects
- Scripting or programming experience required
- Ability to work collaboratively in team settings
- Willingness to travel as required
- Master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with STK, JMP, Python, C++, or R is highly desirable
- Experience with modern military systems (domestic and foreign) advantageous
- Active TS/SCI or higher clearance preferred
- Passion for advancing defense technology and supporting national security objectives
