Millwork Estimator Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Millwork Estimator to join our dynamic team as a full-time employee. As a key contributor to our continued success in Carlsbad, CA, you will play a vital role in the estimation process for commercial millwork projects. Responsibilities- Attend job walks to assess and gather project-specific details, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of project requirements in Carlsbad, CA.
- Perform field dimensioning (Field Dim) for projects as needed, guaranteeing accuracy in project measurements and specifications.
- Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records for each project, supporting transparency and ease of reference throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review bid requests and ensure prompt and thorough responses to potential project opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with company engineers, project managers, and shop foremen to clarify project details and resolve any estimation-related queries.
- Provide clear and timely answers to questions regarding quotes, supporting both internal team members and external clients.
- Perform detailed take-offs from architectural drawings, accurately estimating required materials and labor for each commercial millwork project.
- Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed to clarify project data, ensuring that all estimations are based on accurate and complete information.
- Solicit competitive pricing from vendors, fostering cost-effective solutions and maintaining the quality standards of all millwork projects.
- Utilize company-specific estimating programs and maintain current pricing information, ensuring all estimates reflect up-to-date market conditions and vendor offerings.
- Strong knowledge of a wide variety of woodworking products, with a demonstrated understanding of their applications within commercial millwork projects.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret architectural drawings to produce precise material and labor take-offs.
- Minimum of three years of experience in estimation within the construction or millwork industries.
