Metrology SupervisorARC Group is seeking a dedicated Metrology Supervisor for a full-time role at a manufacturing plant near Daytona Beach, Florida. As a Metrology Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all calibration activities and leading a team of metrology technicians to ensure high standards of quality and regulatory compliance within the organization. This position requires strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in metrology operations, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities- Supervise metrology technicians and quality control staff, ensuring all tasks and duties are executed efficiently and in compliance with company standards.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate processes and policies for product and service testing to maintain and improve quality standards.
- Monitor and assess current testing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Enforce strict regulatory compliance across all metrology and calibration activities, safeguarding the organization’s adherence to industry standards and governmental regulations.
- Conduct thorough visual and physical inspections of products and materials to verify their compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Oversee the performance of the metrology department, ensuring organizational objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the continuous success and adaptability of the metrology team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
- Experience using SAP systems for resource planning and data management.
- Familiarity with Blue Mountain (Computerized Calibration Management Systems) to manage calibration processes and records.
- Understanding of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) systems for quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis to resolve technical and process issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of metrology and quality assurance practices within a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Ability to integrate standard theories, principles, and concepts to propose and implement effective courses of action.
- Experience providing direct or indirect supervision, including task assignment, work review, and ongoing performance management.
- Accountability for employee scheduling, performance evaluations, and input on hiring decisions.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills to address day-to-day operational challenges.
- Effective communicator with frequent interaction with department supervisors, team members, and external contractors or vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience supervising metrology technicians and overseeing calibration activities in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Permanent work authorization in the United States is required. Candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future. C2C and brokering arrangements are not available.
