The MEP Coordinator plays a pivotal role from the earliest stages of project development through to final completion and turnover. You will collaborate closely with design and engineering teams, consultants, subcontractors, and field staff to ensure all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing requirements are addressed proactively. Duties & Responsibilities
- Review MEP design documents, shop drawings, and submittals for constructability, coordination, and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with design teams and subcontractors to identify and resolve design conflicts early in the process.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize system performance and cost efficiency.
- Assist with BIM coordination and model review for accurate clash detection and trade alignment.
- Lead coordination meetings between MEP subcontractors, field teams, and project management to ensure system integration.
- Verify installation methods, materials, and sequencing align with design intent and project requirements.
- Work closely with field superintendents to schedule MEP activities and monitor progress.
- Support QA/QC inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Track and manage RFIs, change orders, and as-built documentation for MEP scopes of work.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, local codes, and project specifications in all MEP installations.
- Coordinate final inspections, start-up, and turnover documentation for all MEP systems during project closeout.
- Review and verify O&M manuals, warranty information, and training materials for project delivery.
- Support post-construction follow-up to ensure systems operate as intended.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in MEP coordination or MEP field management on large commercial, healthcare, education, or institutional projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including installation methods and commissioning processes.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360; experience with Revit is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety requirements, and trade coordination.
