This full-time Medical Technologist (MT) position involves performing comprehensive clinical laboratory testing across various laboratory departments, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, serology, transfusion services, and phlebotomy. You will be responsible for preparing and evaluating specimens, operating and maintaining state-of-the-art laboratory instruments, conducting quality control procedures, and accurately reporting test results using advanced laboratory information systems. Medical Technologist (MT) - Summary
- Responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, serology, transfusion services, and phlebotomy.
- Ensures accurate specimen preparation, evaluation, and reporting using laboratory information systems.
- Maintains laboratory equipment, follows quality control procedures, and complies with regulatory standards.
- Supports the mission of providing high-quality healthcare for service members, veterans, and their families.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive range of clinical laboratory tests across multiple sections, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of results.
- Evaluate and prepare specimens, maintaining their physiologic properties for accurate analysis.
- Prepare reagents and reference materials, calibrate and standardize instruments, and ensure proper instrument operation through quality control checks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common laboratory instrument issues and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Identify and address indicators of instrument malfunction, implementing corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
- Execute quality control procedures for equipment, reagents, and products, maintaining comprehensive records for quality assurance.
- Prepare specimens for transport or mail out, ensuring compliance with all protocols and safety standards.
- Handle biological waste according to established procedures for proper disposal.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduation from a medical laboratory scientist training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or a program acceptable to the American Medical Technologist (AMT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active certification or registration from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT).
- At least 1 year of full-time experience as a Medical Technologist within the last 3 years in a clinical setting of similar size or complexity.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
