Medical Surgical Telemetry Nurse (Med Surg Tele RN) - Summary
- Provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical telemetry unit, ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring and comprehensive nursing support.
- Utilize advanced clinical judgment and technical skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate treatment and facilitate positive patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, recovery processes, and self-care strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment, promptly recognizing and responding to arrhythmias and changes in patient status.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and evaluation of laboratory results.
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans based on patient assessments and physician recommendations.
- Assist with pre- and post-operative care, wound management, and pain control for surgical patients.
- Promote patient safety by adhering to infection control practices, fall prevention protocols, and medication administration guidelines.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic medical records.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and families to ensure coordinated and quality care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional education relevant to the Med Surg Tele RN field.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Demonstrated experience in a medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing environment preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
