Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN) - Summary
- Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care medical-surgical environment.
- Utilize clinical knowledge and technical skills to support patient recovery and wellness, working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical equipment use, patient assessment, and evidence-based nursing interventions in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess the conditions of patients, recognizing and responding to emergent or life-threatening situations.
- Make clinical rounds, evaluate patient progress, provide education, and respond to patient and family inquiries.
- Document patient vital signs and care activities in accordance with facility policies and standards of care.
- Collaborate with physicians during examinations and treatments, assisting with procedures, wound care, and dressing changes.
- Administer prescribed medications, manage IVs and blood transfusions, and support pain management interventions including PCA pumps and epidural infusions.
- Operate essential medical equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, EKG machines, and cardiac monitors.
- Educate patients and their families regarding ongoing care, recovery processes, and the use of medical devices as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, equipment, and supplies to ensure proper usage and communication with all members of the healthcare team.
Salary & Benefits
- Compensation is compliant with all applicable federal and state regulations, including Service Contract Act (SCA) Area Wage Determination tables.
- Base pay is set at $60.50 per hour, with additional premium rates to be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Current, active, unrestricted RN license or registration as a professional nurse from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
- Minimum of three (3) years full-time experience within the past five (5) years providing care for adult patients in an acute care setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is desired.
