Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, notifying appropriate personnel of their arrival
- Verify insurance eligibility and update patient demographic information
- Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and process financial transactions
- Enter and maintain accurate patient records in office systems
- Generate, complete, and batch patient encounter forms
- Answer multi-line phones, route calls, take and follow up on messages
- Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments, including special tests
- Handle referrals, authorizations, and ensure proper documentation
- Count and balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of day
- Assist with check-out, collect payments, and schedule follow-up appointments
- Complete required forms for patients (e.g., DMV, employment physicals)
- Maintain clean and organized reception and waiting room areas
- Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed to support office workflow

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in typing (minimum 60 wpm) and use of office equipment (keyboard, calculator, copier, etc.)
- Manual dexterity and physical ability to handle files and office materials (up to 30 pounds)
- Vision correctable to 20/20 and normal hearing range for effective telephone communication
