We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical Oncologist (MD, Hematology Oncology) to join our team and provide exceptional care to patients in a well-established outpatient clinic setting. This is a unique opportunity for a board-certified Medical Oncologist to serve in a critical role, filling a vacancy until a new staff member arrives. As a Medical Oncologist (MD, Hematology Oncology), you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality hematology and oncology care. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while working with a supportive staff including Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, and Advanced Practice Providers such as Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
The patient population consists of approximately 12 individuals per day, featuring a mix of 30-minute follow-up appointments and 60-minute consultations. The primary focus is on hematologic malignancies, but you may also be required to consult on solid tumor cases as needed. The clinic utilizes the Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring streamlined and efficient documentation and patient care coordination.
As a Medical Oncologist (MD, Hematology Oncology), you will be expected to work Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overnight and weekend call responsibilities. You will benefit from a collegial environment and comprehensive support from the clinical team. The hospital provides full travel coverage and facilitates a credentialing process that typically takes 30 to 60 days. Board certification is required, as well as Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and an active state medical license.
