Medical Office Clerk - Summary
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors in an OB/GYN clinic setting.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors at the front desk, providing a welcoming and professional first impression.
- Manage incoming phone calls, direct inquiries to the appropriate departments, and take messages as necessary.
- Arrange and schedule medical appointments, determine patient eligibility for services, and communicate instructions or referrals as needed.
- Obtain, update, and file medical records according to established guidelines, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Review patient records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency, extracting needed information for healthcare providers.
- Ensure that medical records are available prior to patient appointments and assist in obtaining additional documentation as requested.
- Initiate and locate patient records as needed, utilizing both physical and electronic systems.
- Create and maintain appointment schedules and templates within the patient appointment computer system.
- Conduct end-of-day processes to reconcile and resolve any pending appointments or record issues.
- Perform additional clerical and administrative duties in support of overall clinic operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in an office or administrative setting, preferably in healthcare.
- Proficiency as a typist with a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute (WPM).
- Demonstrated knowledge of general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- General office administrative and clerical skills needed to perform receptionist duties and support a high-functioning clinic environment.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
