We are currently seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a crucial part in clinical laboratory operations, performing both automated and manual testing procedures in areas such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, bacteriology, immunohematology, and phlebotomy. Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct automated and manual laboratory procedures in chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, phlebotomy, and immunohematology.
- Assess specimen suitability for analysis and prepare specimens while maintaining their physiological state.
- Prepare reagents and primary reference materials as required.
- Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform quality control procedures and verify instrument operation using established guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common laboratory instrument issues, making simple repairs as needed.
- Recognize and act upon indicators of equipment malfunction, and implement necessary corrections.
- Obtain and convert analytical data to prescribed reporting units, verifying data accuracy and correlation.
- Maintain comprehensive records for quality control and quality assurance purposes.
- Utilize laboratory information systems and other clinical automation systems as required.
- Participate in regular training to remain current with laboratory procedures and compliance standards.
- Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with Joint Commission Standards and organizational protocols.
- Identify and address issues that may impact test performance or result reporting, escalating as needed.
- Assist patients by providing directions to appropriate clinics, departments, or laboratory areas as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited medical technology program or equivalent as recognized by NAACLS, ABHES, or AMT.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Completion of a minimum six-month rotation through all sections of a medical laboratory, as required for certification.
- Demonstrated competence in performing a full range of laboratory testing and procedures.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance measures.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
