Medical Director, Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) – Summary- Lead and manage clinical healthcare services within a correctional facility setting.
- Provide direct patient care and oversee the diagnosis and treatment of a diverse patient population.
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, state regulations, and national healthcare standards.
- Foster a culture of quality improvement and continuous professional development.
- Deliver advanced clinical services, utilizing sound medical judgment in all aspects of patient care.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of medical care, ensuring accessibility, timeliness, and quality for all patients.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of healthcare staff, including involvement in recruitment, hiring, and ongoing staff development.
- Promote continuous quality improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices.
- Collaborate with nursing, administrative, and regional leadership teams to facilitate seamless healthcare operations.
- Participate in scheduled meetings, adhere to reporting requirements, and engage in organizational quality initiatives.

- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted Texas medical license.
- Current DEA registration.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a closely related specialty.
- Minimum of two to three years of clinical experience in primary care, correctional medicine, or public health preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proven ability to exercise independent clinical judgment and manage the operations of a healthcare facility.
- Possesses a strong commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
- Demonstrates exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Is experienced in correctional medicine, public health, or primary care environments, with a track record of effective team management.
