Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) - Summary
- Lead a physician-led outpatient primary care center serving seniors with complex chronic conditions.
- Oversee and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
- Manage a reduced patient panel (60–90 patients) for greater patient focus and work-life balance.
- Champion value-based care models and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in advanced leadership, operational, and clinical training programs provided by the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct clinical operations within the primary care center, ensuring delivery of high-quality, coordinated care to senior patients.
- Supervise and support PCPs and NPs through ongoing mentorship, education, and performance feedback.
- Conduct patient visits, focusing on individuals with multiple chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
- Develop individualized care plans, collaborating with in-house specialists (e.g., Cardiology, Podiatry) as needed.
- Implement and monitor quality metrics to achieve targeted patient outcomes and cost efficiencies.
- Facilitate holistic health offerings, including acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Participate in center financial management, medical economics, and growth strategy sessions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including leadership pathways and operational excellence training.
- Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusion for both patients and staff.

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Previous leadership experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to travel locally and regionally as required.
