Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) OverviewWe are a physician-led, mission-driven primary care organization dedicated to transforming healthcare for the neediest populations. As a leading provider in the industry, we are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Director (MD/DO) to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. This is a full-time opportunity for a clinical leader who is passionate about advancing primary care and making a meaningful impact in the senior community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of primary care providers (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) to ensure delivery of exceptional patient-centered care.
- Oversee a small patient panel, managing 60-90 patients, primarily seniors with multiple chronic conditions.
- Implement and monitor value-based care initiatives to drive improved clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Coordinate with in-house consulting specialists such as cardiologists and podiatrists, as well as holistic health services including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition programs.
- Support clinic operations by contributing to medical economics, financial performance, and growth strategies.
- Participate in ongoing leadership development and training, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways Program.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment and ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in local and occasional regional travel as needed for training or operational support.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as part of the role.
