Medical Director, Primary Care Job OverviewWe are a physician-led, mission-driven primary care organization dedicated to providing comprehensive health services to senior populations. As a Medical Director, Primary Care, you will play a vital role in transforming healthcare delivery by fostering a patient-centered approach that emphasizes quality, value-based care. As a clinical leader, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our senior patients receive the highest standard of care, while guiding and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of providers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee clinical operations for a primary care center focused on serving seniors with complex, chronic health conditions.
- Manage and support a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), ensuring adherence to evidence-based guidelines and organizational protocols.
- Maintain a manageable patient panel, enabling personalized and high-quality care for each individual.
- Implement and promote value-based care initiatives to improve patient health outcomes while optimizing resource utilization.
- Participate in the development and execution of care protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.
- Ensure excellent communication and collaboration among providers, staff, and consulting specialists within the clinic.
- Support ongoing education and professional development for clinical team members, including participation in leadership and management training programs.
- Monitor and analyze clinic performance metrics, contributing to medical economics and operational excellence.
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a closely related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated strength in leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed for the role.
- Access to specialized training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training and PCP Essentials, designed to enhance clinical leadership skills.
- Participation in leadership pathways and center operations programs focused on medical director development.
- Opportunities to advance knowledge in medical economics, center financial performance, and organizational growth.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in cardiology, podiatry, and additional medical disciplines.
- Support for holistic health services, such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling, to promote overall patient wellness.
- Coordination of door-to-door transportation for patients to ensure timely access to care within the Fort Myers, FL community.
