Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) for a full-time opportunity in Fort Myers, FL. This leadership position offers an opportunity to support and guide a physician-led, mission-driven organization focused on delivering high-quality care to senior patients. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing a clinical team, overseeing patient care, and supporting the organization's commitment to value-based healthcare. As a Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered services to a population with complex healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
- Oversee a small patient panel, typically managing between 60 and 90 patients, focusing on seniors with multiple chronic conditions.
- Promote and implement value-based care initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care delivered within the clinic.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and professional development of clinical staff.
- Engage in strategic planning with the leadership team to support clinic growth and operational excellence.
- Actively collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care.
- Champion the integration of holistic health services such as acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition within the clinic’s care model.
- Utilize data and analytics to monitor clinical outcomes and drive improvements in patient care and clinic financial performance.
- Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a closely related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine (FM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
- Access to specialized training programs including PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, and Medical Director and Center Operations modules.
- Opportunities to participate in a Leadership Pathways Program, and training on medical economics and center financial performance.
- Involvement in sales and growth strategy sessions to further develop leadership and operational skills.
