Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) OverviewThis full-time Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) opportunity is an integral leadership position within a physician-led, mission-driven primary care organization. Located in Ft. Myers, FL, the role is dedicated to providing high-quality care to the senior population, focusing on patients with multiple chronic conditions. As a Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), you will lead a dedicated clinical team, support the organization's vision of delivering affordable, VIP-level healthcare to seniors, and help shape the future of value-based primary care in the Ft. Myers region.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) within the clinic.
- Oversee the delivery of patient-centric, value-based care to a small patient panel of 60-90 seniors, many of whom have 3-5 chronic conditions.
- Ensure clinical excellence and operational effectiveness by guiding daily clinic activities and setting high standards for patient care.
- Participate in Medical Director and Center Operations training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Leadership Pathways, and Medical Economics.
- Collaborate with in-house specialists, such as cardiologists and podiatrists, as well as holistic health providers, to support a comprehensive care model.
- Uphold the organization’s mission to honor seniors by providing exceptional, accessible care, including support services like transportation for patients in need.
- Engage in local and occasional regional travel to support clinical and leadership initiatives.
- Contribute to clinic growth and patient outreach in the Ft. Myers community, reflecting the organization’s commitment to improving access and outcomes for seniors.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required; previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential for success in this position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally, and occasionally regionally, as required by the role.
