Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) to lead a team at our primary care center in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time opportunity for a clinically driven physician-leader to make a significant impact on patient care, especially within the senior population. As a physician-led and mission-driven organization, our commitment is to provide affordable, high-quality care to seniors, supporting their health and well-being through a value-based approach. The Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) will oversee clinical operations, guide providers, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of primary care physicians (PCPs), nurse practitioners (NPs), and clinical staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, and compliance with all regulatory requirements within the center.
- Direct the care of a small patient panel, typically 60-90 patients, primarily seniors with multiple chronic conditions (3-5 chronic diseases per patient).
- Implement and support value-based care initiatives, focusing on improving outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in and complete specialized leadership and clinical training, including PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Medical Economics.
- Engage in the Leadership Pathways Program to further develop leadership and management competencies.
- Monitor center financial performance, contribute to strategic planning, and support center growth initiatives.
- Coordinate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to provide holistic care.
- Promote holistic health services such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling within the clinic.
- Support operational initiatives to ensure patient access, including facilitating transportation services for patients as needed.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
