Medical Director, Primary Care – MD/DO Overview

As a Medical Director, Primary Care – MD/DO in Jacksonville, FL, you will play a key leadership role in our organization, contributing to our mission by guiding a talented clinical team and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for a primary care center serving a senior population, focusing on value-based care delivery.
- Manage and mentor a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to ensure coordinated, high-quality care for patients.
- Supervise a small patient panel, typically consisting of 60-90 seniors, many of whom have multiple chronic conditions.
- Implement and monitor best practices in clinical operations, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations courses, and Leadership Pathways Programs.
- Support the integration of holistic health services such as acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition within the care model.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to provide comprehensive care.
- Utilize medical economics and data analysis to drive center financial performance and support growth initiatives.
- Ensure seamless, door-to-door transportation services for patients in need to improve access to care.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required. Leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel locally within the Jacksonville, FL area and occasionally to regional locations as needed.
