Medical Director – Primary Care, MD/DO Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Director – Primary Care, MD/DO for a full-time role in Deerfield Beach, FL. This leadership position within a physician-led, mission-driven organization is focused on delivering high-quality, value-based outpatient care to the senior population. As a Medical Director – Primary Care, MD/DO, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing clinical operations, mentoring healthcare providers, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) within the outpatient clinic setting.
- Oversee care for a small panel of 60-90 senior patients, most of whom present with 3-5 chronic diseases, ensuring personalized and attentive care.
- Champion a value-based care approach to improve health outcomes and optimize resource utilization.
- Participate in and lead ongoing clinical training, including PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, Medical Director and Center Operations, Leadership Pathways Program, and Medical Economics and Center Financial Performance.
- Collaborate with consulting specialists, such as cardiologists and podiatrists, to provide comprehensive healthcare services.
- Support holistic health initiatives, including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition programs, to promote overall patient wellness.
- Foster a positive, patient-focused environment, prioritizing work-life balance and manageable clinic hours (Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
- Ensure clinic compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a closely related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required; leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
