The Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) is responsible for mentoring, coaching, and inspiring providers across a network of clinics. Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) - Summary
- Lead and oversee a network of primary care clinics, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care.
- Mentor, coach, and support primary care providers to achieve clinical and operational excellence.
- Balance clinical practice with administrative leadership to remain engaged with both patients and staff.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and organizational decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership and supervision to providers in multiple primary care clinics.
- Serve as a clinical role model by maintaining a limited panel of patients, as needed.
- Mentor and coach physicians, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Oversee clinical operations in collaboration with executive and operations leadership.
- Participate in the launch of new clinics, including involvement in center openings and operational ramp-up.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, including HEDIS measures and patient outcome metrics.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Support network development, specialty referrals, and documentation/coding accuracy.
- Promote patient engagement, community outreach, and a collaborative culture among staff.
- Travel between clinics within the assigned market area as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) required.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in value-based care (VBC) or managed care settings strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach clinical providers.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel between clinics as needed within the market.
