Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) to join our dynamic outpatient team in Columbus, OH. This full-time leadership position is ideal for physicians who are passionate about delivering high-quality care to a senior patient population. Our goal is to provide accessible, comprehensive healthcare services that honor and support seniors with multiple chronic conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the primary care outpatient clinic, ensuring best practices in patient care and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Manage and mentor a team of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), supporting their professional development and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Oversee a small patient panel (60-90 patients maximum), focusing on seniors living with 3-5 chronic diseases, and deliver value-based care that improves patient health outcomes.
- Implement and monitor clinical protocols, quality measures, and patient safety initiatives to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
- Participate in organizational leadership programs, such as PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways Program.
- Engage in ongoing education related to medical economics, center financial performance, sales, and growth strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, and support the integration of holistic health services such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Support center operations by participating in recruitment, staff training, and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, with the ability to inspire and guide clinical staff.
- Strong communication and analytical abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed.
