Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) for a full-time opportunity in Fort Myers, FL. This role is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible physician with a passion for value-based care and clinical leadership. As the Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), you will lead a dedicated clinical team focused on improving the health outcomes of senior patients with multiple chronic conditions, while advancing the organization's mission of providing affordable, high-quality primary care to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical operations within the primary care center, ensuring delivery of patient-centered, value-based care for seniors with complex medical needs.
- Manage and mentor a team of primary care providers (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), fostering professional development and collaborative practice.
- Maintain a small patient panel (60-90 patients maximum) to ensure high-quality, personalized care.
- Implement and uphold best practices in chronic disease management and preventative care.
- Participate in leadership training programs such as PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, Medical Director and Center Operations, Leadership Pathways Program, and Medical Economics.
- Contribute to clinic operations and financial performance, including oversight of medical economics and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in fields such as cardiology and podiatry, as well as holistic health service providers.
- Ensure alignment with the organization's mission to deliver VIP care to seniors and support access initiatives such as patient transportation services.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with skills in team management and effective communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel locally and, on occasion, regionally as required.
