Medical Director – Primary Care Summary
The Medical Director – Primary Care serves as the clinical and operational leader of an outpatient primary care center focused on providing superior care for senior patients. This role involves the management of a small patient panel, supervision of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), and participation in organization-wide initiatives to enhance value-based care. Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead clinical operations for an outpatient primary care center serving a predominantly senior patient base.
- Supervise, mentor, and support PCPs and NPs within the center, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to organizational protocols.
- Manage a patient panel of 60–90 individuals, focusing on seniors with multiple chronic conditions and complex care needs.
- Implement and champion value-based care models to drive improved patient outcomes and efficient resource utilization.
- Participate in and deliver training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training and Center Operations, as well as ongoing leadership pathways.
- Engage in medical economics and center financial performance initiatives to meet operational and clinical targets.
- Promote holistic health services, including coordination with in-house specialists such as cardiology and podiatry, as well as complementary therapies like acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Facilitate patient access to care, including door-to-door transportation services for eligible patients.
- Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree in a relevant specialty.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in team leadership, communication, and analytical thinking.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required by the role.
