Medical Director, Primary Care Overview
We are a physician-led, mission-driven primary care organization seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director, Primary Care to lead our outpatient clinical team in New Orleans, LA. As a leader in value-based healthcare, our organization is committed to delivering affordable, VIP-level care to seniors and transforming outcomes for our communities. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible physician who is passionate about clinical leadership and primary care excellence for a senior patient population.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily clinical operations of the primary care center, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Manage and mentor a team of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Provide direct patient care to a dedicated panel of seniors with complex, chronic conditions, utilizing a value-based care model.
- Implement organizational protocols, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead training programs including PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, Center Operations, and Medical Economics.
- Engage in leadership pathways programs to further develop management skills and support clinic growth and performance.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists such as cardiology and podiatry, as well as holistic health service providers.
- Support operational and financial performance through active participation in center sales, growth initiatives, and patient satisfaction efforts.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required; leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
