Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) – Full-Time – Cincinnati, OH Position Overview
The Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), is a crucial clinical leadership role within a physician-led and mission-driven primary care organization dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery for seniors. Based in Cincinnati, OH, this full-time position focuses on overseeing and guiding the clinical operations of an outpatient primary care center, ensuring exceptional, value-based care for a senior patient population with chronic conditions. The Medical Director will be responsible for leading a team of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), managing clinical quality, and supporting the organization’s mission to provide affordable, high-quality healthcare to seniors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a primary care clinical team, including PCPs and NPs, to deliver comprehensive outpatient care to a senior patient panel with complex, chronic needs.
- Oversee daily clinic operations to maintain high standards in patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Implement and support value-based care initiatives, optimizing clinical outcomes and patient engagement.
- Monitor and manage the clinical performance of the center, ensuring adherence to best practices in geriatric and chronic disease management.
- Participate in leadership training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in disciplines such as cardiology and podiatry, and integrate holistic health services including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition into patient care plans.
- Support the professional development of clinical staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Leverage data and medical economics to drive center financial performance and support organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required.
