We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director – Primary Care (MD, DO) to join our mission-driven primary care organization. As the Medical Director – Primary Care, you will play a vital leadership role, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, value-based care to adult and senior populations. The Medical Director – Primary Care leads a multidisciplinary team, focusing on optimizing patient outcomes and quality of life for those with complex chronic conditions. You will serve as both a clinical leader and mentor, managing a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and overseeing a small patient panel to ensure personalized care. This role is ideal for board-certified or board-eligible physicians with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, or geriatrics, and who have demonstrated leadership capabilities in a clinical setting.
Medical Director – Primary Care Summary
- Lead the daily clinical operations of a primary care outpatient center focused on adult and senior care.
- Oversee and support a multidisciplinary team, including PCPs and NPs, to deliver value-based, patient-centered care.
- Foster a culture of clinical excellence and compassionate patient service.
- Drive continuous improvement in patient experience and health outcomes.
- Participate in strategic initiatives to expand access and enhance service delivery for the local community.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor primary care providers and nurse practitioners, guiding their professional growth and development.
- Manage a small patient panel (typically 60–90 patients) to ensure high-quality, personalized care.
- Evaluate and treat seniors, many with multiple chronic conditions, using evidence-based medicine and value-based principles.
- Coordinate care with in-house specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, and integrate holistic services such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition support.
- Implement and monitor best practices in clinical workflows, medical economics, and center financial performance.
- Participate in organization-wide leadership and training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training and Leadership Pathways.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical standards of clinical practice.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to achieve clinic goals related to patient satisfaction, growth, and quality improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a primary care, geriatric, or family practice environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
