Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) for our outpatient clinic in Louisville, KY. As a physician-led, mission-driven organization, we strive to transform the delivery of primary care for seniors, providing affordable, high-quality care designed to improve health outcomes for those with the greatest needs. The Medical Director – Primary Care will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the clinical excellence and operational success of our center, while upholding our mission to honor seniors with VIP-level care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the clinical team, including primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), ensuring the delivery of patient-centered, value-based care.
- Manage a small patient panel of 60-90 seniors, focusing on those with multiple chronic conditions and complex care needs.
- Promote a collaborative team environment that prioritizes continuous improvement, clinical training, and provider development.
- Coordinate patient care with in-house consulting specialists in fields such as cardiology and podiatry, as well as holistic health services including acupuncture, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Implement value-based care models to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Participate in leadership and professional development programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and the Leadership Pathways Program.
- Monitor center financial performance and contribute to growth initiatives through effective clinical operations and patient engagement.
- Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Minimum of one year of direct clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated strength in leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
