Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are a physician-led, mission-driven primary care organization seeking a dedicated Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) for our outpatient clinic in Memphis, TN. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible physician in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine who is passionate about delivering value-based care to a senior population. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary clinical team, including primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for a panel of approximately 60-90 seniors, most with multiple chronic conditions.
- Oversee daily clinical operations, ensuring compliance with best practices in value-based healthcare delivery.
- Collaborate with consulting specialists such as cardiology and podiatry to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Promote holistic health services, including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition, tailored to the needs of the senior population.
- Implement and uphold organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Participate in ongoing leadership development programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Center Medical Director Training, and leadership pathway opportunities.
- Analyze clinical, operational, and financial data to drive performance improvements and patient health outcomes.
- Engage in initiatives for clinic growth, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and compassion among staff members.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or a closely related specialty.
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required; prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally within Memphis, TN, and occasionally regionally as needed.
