Medical Director - Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are a physician-led, mission-driven primary care organization dedicated to transforming the healthcare experience for seniors and those with complex chronic conditions. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a full-time Medical Director - Primary Care (MD/DO) to lead our outpatient clinic operations in Philadelphia, PA. This leadership opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily clinical operations of the primary care outpatient center, ensuring a high standard of patient care and safety.
- Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team including Primary Care Physicians (PCP) and Nurse Practitioners (NP).
- Manage a small patient panel of seniors, typically comprising 60-90 patients with 3-5 chronic diseases.
- Implement and advocate for value-based care models that focus on improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
- Participate in and lead clinical training programs such as PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, and leadership development initiatives.
- Engage in center operations management, including financial performance, medical economics, and clinic growth strategies.
- Foster a culture of holistic health by integrating consulting specialists (e.g., cardiology, podiatry) and wellness services such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and care quality standards.
- Promote patient access by supporting door-to-door transportation solutions for patients in need.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
