Medical Director, Primary Care Overview
Our organization is a physician-led, mission-driven primary care provider dedicated to transforming healthcare for senior populations. We are seeking a full-time Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) to lead our outpatient center and clinical team. This leadership position focuses on delivering value-based care to seniors with complex health needs within a collaborative, supportive environment. The role is available in Columbus, OH, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact within the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of primary care providers, including physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs).
- Oversee a small patient panel of approximately 60-90 seniors, ensuring high-quality, individualized care and continuity.
- Implement value-based care strategies to improve patient outcomes for seniors with 3-5 chronic diseases.
- Participate in organizational leadership programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways.
- Engage in medical economics and center financial performance initiatives to ensure the sustainability and growth of the center.
- Support the integration of holistic health services such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Provide oversight for patient transportation services, ensuring accessibility for all patients.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing clinical teams is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as part of the role.
