Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) – Richmond, VA – Full-time Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) to lead our outpatient clinic in Richmond, VA. This full-time leadership opportunity is ideal for a physician who is passionate about value-based healthcare and improving outcomes for senior patients. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the clinical operations of the primary care outpatient center, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Manage and mentor a team of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), fostering professional development and collaborative teamwork.
- Maintain a small patient panel of 60–90 senior patients, focusing on those with multiple chronic conditions and complex healthcare needs.
- Implement value-based care strategies to improve patient outcomes and support the organization's mission of honoring seniors with accessible, VIP-level care.
- Participate in and lead ongoing training programs such as PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways Program.
- Monitor clinic financial performance and collaborate with the leadership team on growth and sales initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to provide holistic care options such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting. Leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required.
Additional Information
- Full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule. Clinic hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the last patient scheduled at 4:15 p.m.
