The Medical Director – Primary Care position is ideal for board-certified or board-eligible physicians who are passionate about geriatric and primary care medicine. You will oversee a small patient panel, ensuring personalized attention and continuity of care for seniors, many of whom manage multiple chronic conditions. You will also guide and mentor primary care providers (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), driving clinical excellence and supporting staff development. Medical Director – Primary Care Summary- Full-time outpatient leadership role in Richmond, VA
- Oversee a small panel of senior patients, focusing on comprehensive primary care
- Lead and mentor PCPs and NPs in a value-based care environment
- Support and advance the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality care for seniors
- Supervise and manage a dedicated team of PCPs and NPs, fostering clinical excellence
- Maintain a small patient panel (60–90 patients), ensuring individualized, high-quality care
- Provide medical oversight and leadership for outpatient primary care services
- Coordinate care for seniors with complex health needs, often managing 3–5 chronic conditions per patient
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists (e.g., cardiology, podiatry) and holistic health providers
- Implement and support value-based care models and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in clinical and operational training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training and Leadership Pathways
- Engage in medical economics and financial performance activities to optimize center operations
- Promote growth and expansion of the clinic through effective leadership and patient engagement

- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting
- Leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, value-based care
- Experience or interest in working with senior populations with complex medical needs
- Proven ability to lead teams and mentor clinical staff
