As a Medical Director – Primary Care, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality, value-based care for a senior patient population in a primary care outpatient setting. This position is central to maintaining and enhancing the standards of clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction within the organization. The Medical Director – Primary Care is responsible for managing and mentoring a clinical team, including primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), while upholding the organization’s mission to provide accessible, compassionate, and comprehensive healthcare to seniors.

Medical Director – Primary Care Summary
- Lead the clinical operations of a primary care outpatient center, focused on serving seniors with multiple chronic conditions.
- Oversee a small patient panel (60-90 patients maximum) to ensure personalized, value-based care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Mentor, manage, and support a team of PCPs and NPs, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Participate in ongoing leadership development programs, clinical training, and operational workshops to enhance your skills and drive clinic performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the daily clinical and administrative operations of the outpatient primary care center.
- Ensure efficient scheduling and patient flow, with clinic hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Provide direct patient care, focusing on seniors with three to five chronic diseases, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate treatment plans.
- Guide and develop clinical staff, including PCPs and NPs, by offering feedback, training, and support.
- Monitor quality metrics and value-based care initiatives to optimize patient health outcomes.
- Engage with in-house consulting specialists across disciplines such as cardiology and podiatry to coordinate holistic care.
- Promote the use of holistic health services, including acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Participate in leadership training programs, including the PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and the Leadership Pathways Program.
- Contribute to the center’s growth strategies and financial performance through medical economics and sales initiatives.
- Uphold compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required.
