Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview

As a Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO), Full-time, you will play a crucial leadership role in transforming healthcare for a diverse patient population, with a focus on seniors managing multiple chronic conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and direction for a multidisciplinary primary care team, including Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
- Oversee and manage a small patient panel, typically 60 to 90 seniors, to ensure personalized and attentive care.
- Champion value-based care initiatives, focusing on quality improvement and optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement clinical protocols and workflows that enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with in-house specialists, such as cardiologists and podiatrists, to deliver comprehensive and holistic care.
- Promote utilization of holistic health services, including acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition programs.
- Participate in and lead training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director Essentials, and Leadership Pathways for continuous professional development.
- Monitor center financial performance and contribute to growth strategies through medical economics and operational excellence.
- Foster an environment of teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement among clinical and support staff.
- Engage in community outreach and patient education efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting required. Prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage clinical operations in an outpatient primary care setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel locally within Cincinnati, OH, and occasionally regionally as needed.
