Medical Director – Summary- Serve as the primary clinical leader overseeing medical services within a correctional healthcare facility.
- Provide direction, mentorship, and oversight to a multidisciplinary team of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
- Collaborate with administration and nursing leadership to ensure high-quality, accessible healthcare for all patients.
- Deliver advanced clinical services, including diagnosis and treatment for diverse patient populations.
- Oversee day-to-day medical operations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, state regulations, and national standards.
- Supervise, evaluate, and support physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, including involvement in hiring and performance management.
- Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and participate in regular meetings and reporting activities.

- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active medical license and DEA registration as required by state regulations.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a closely related specialty.
- Minimum of two to three years of clinical experience in primary care, correctional medicine, or public health preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
