Medical Director – Summary
- Directs and manages Clinical Directors and multidisciplinary teams within assigned centers
- Ensures clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational values
- Spends a portion of time providing direct patient care and the remainder on leadership responsibilities
- Contributes to market performance objectives, culture building, and clinical-operations synergy
- Supports talent development and succession planning for providers
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day clinical operations for multiple centers, ensuring high-quality patient care and achievement of clinical outcomes
- Mentor, manage, and provide performance feedback to Clinical Directors and other providers
- Lead training initiatives including PCP Black Belt Training, Leadership Pathways, and Medical Economics
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding clinical staff including physicians and specialists
- Partner with internal departments to drive clinical talent growth and development
- Establish and maintain relationships with payers, community organizations, hospitals, and other key stakeholders
- Monitor market culture, address workplace concerns, and support positive work environments
- Review and approve referrals, provide back-up for authorizations, and facilitate utilization management
- Contribute to quality improvement and performance initiatives in collaboration with Regional Leadership
- Deliver direct patient care, primarily serving senior patients with multiple chronic conditions
- Embody core organizational values and service standards in all interactions

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or related specialty
- Active and unrestricted medical license
- Board eligibility required; board certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience (3+ years preferred)
- Experience in medical leadership (Medical Director or similar role preferred)
- Demonstrated success in value-based care, population health, or chronic disease management
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to travel as needed for market oversight and leadership responsibilities
- Fluency in spoken and written English
