Wolinsky Primary Care is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder and Biller (CPC) to join our team in Fayetteville, NC. This full-time opportunity offers a supportive and collaborative environment within a patient-centered primary care setting. As a Medical Coder and Biller (CPC), you will play a key role in ensuring accurate coding, billing, and compliance with healthcare regulations to support the clinic’s commitment to compassionate and efficient care.
Responsibilities
- Accurately assign codes for patient services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
- Submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance claims, including addressing claim appeals and handling any rejections in a timely manner.
- Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits to facilitate accurate billing processes and minimize delays in claim processing.
- Conduct regular audits of coding practices and documentation to ensure compliance with current regulations and internal policies.
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers, patients, and internal staff regarding billing inquiries, claim status, and any issues related to payment or coding.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in medical coding and billing, preferably in a primary care or outpatient healthcare setting.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or an equivalent certification preferred.
- Proficient in using EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems and medical billing software.
- Strong understanding of insurance guidelines, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
