To excel as a Medical Billing Specialist, you should possess at least 1-2 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience, with a strong background in hospital and/or physician billing. Familiarity with insurance follow-up, denial management, and billing forms such as UB-04 or HCFA 1500 is crucial.
