The Medical Billing Specialist (MBS) is a key administrative professional responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing operations in a healthcare setting. This full-time role is essential for maintaining the financial health of the organization, as it encompasses a range of tasks from claim submission to payment posting and patient account management. The Medical Billing Specialist must maintain strict attention to detail and exhibit strong problem-solving skills, supporting both internal teams and patient inquiries while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be at the forefront of the revenue cycle process. Medical Billing Specialist - Summary- Serve as the primary point of contact for all billing-related activities within the organization.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of insurance and patient claims.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws and coding standards, including ICD-10 guidelines.
- Support the financial operations of the practice through diligent payment posting and account review.
- Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practices.
- Conduct regular audits to review coding accuracy and ensure thorough documentation.
- Submit insurance claims promptly to maximize timely reimbursement.
- Assist with posting payments from both insurance providers and patients.
- Review daily and monthly reports to evaluate claim status and prioritize work accordingly.
- Respond professionally to patient billing inquiries to resolve account issues efficiently.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality at all times in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

- Experience in a primary care office is highly desirable.
- Associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding preferred.
