Medical Authorization Representative - Summary
The Medical Authorization Representative is responsible for facilitating patient check-ins and check-outs, verifying patient demographics and insurance information, scheduling appointments, and managing referrals and authorizations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with experience in medical insurance processes and a strong commitment to providing excellent patient service. Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for patients, both in person and over the phone, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service throughout the patient journey.
- Facilitate patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all related paperwork and payments.
- Manage co-payments and reconcile payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with company protocols.
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information using healthcare management systems such as CS-Link/Epic.
- Schedule patient appointments, complete registration processes, and manage referrals and insurance authorizations for a variety of payer plans.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace in alignment with department safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure all necessary information and documentation are in place for patient visits and procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of privacy regulations and maintain the confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans within an outpatient clinic or medical office setting.
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in a medical administrative role, preferably involving surgery center or procedural authorization processing.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and responding to detailed oral and written instructions.
- Familiarity with medical management software such as CS-Link/Epic is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive healthcare team.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
