As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will play a vital role within a fast-paced clinical environment. Your responsibilities will encompass both clinical and administrative support, ensuring that clinic operations run smoothly and that patients receive attentive, compassionate care. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have completed an accredited medical assistant training program or have formal medical services training from the United States Armed Forces. U.S. Citizenship is required for this role, as you will be working directly with a diverse population of patients, including service members, veterans, and their families.

The Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for preparing examination rooms, assisting with patient check-ins and admissions, collecting and documenting patient medical histories, and performing diagnostic procedures as ordered by healthcare providers. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels in examination rooms, completing lab and x-ray requisitions, and supporting various administrative functions to ensure seamless clinic operations. Medical Assistant (MA) - Summary
- Support clinic operations by preparing exam rooms and assisting with patient flow
- Collect and document vital signs, medical histories, and perform ordered diagnostic procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and support both clinical and administrative duties
- Ensure a positive, efficient experience for service members, veterans, and their families
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms prior to patient arrival and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed by clinical staff
- Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry
- Obtain and document patient medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs accurately
- Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered by healthcare providers
- Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine cleaning and maintenance of examination areas
- Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies
- Enter demographic data into electronic systems, update diagnoses, and record patient departure times
- Support administrative tasks such as answering telephones, taking messages, assisting with scheduling, and placing appointment reminder calls (administrative duties limited to 20% of workload)

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant training program (CAAHEP, ABHES, CCBMA, ACCSC, ACICS, ACCET, or ACCJC), or completion of a formal United States Armed Forces medical services training program
- U.S. Citizenship required
