Duties & Responsibilities
- Translate medical information between Spanish-speaking patients and providers
- Verify patient information, record medical histories, and perform clinical documentation
- Prepare patients for examination and perform preliminary physical assessments
- Safeguard patient records and maintain confidentiality
- Communicate physician orders and answer patient questions
- Perform phlebotomy, package specimens for laboratory testing
- Conduct EKG, spirometry, pulse oximetry, vision and hearing screening, and other diagnostic tests
- Administer immunizations and injections, ensuring accurate documentation
- Assist providers with medical procedures and treatments
- Maintain clean and sterile clinical areas and equipment
- Manage supply inventory and order clinical supplies
- Process prescription requests and obtain prior authorizations as needed
- Check and respond to voicemails, transcribe messages into patient charts
- Participate in ongoing training, including Athenahealth Learning Portal modules
- Adhere to professional, legal, and safety standards at all times
- Take ownership of new tasks and contribute to the improvement of practice operations

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred
- Proficiency in Spanish translation
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with computer software applications, such as Athena
- Understanding of OSHA, safety, and infection control protocols
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively
