Responsibilities
- Welcome and check in patients as they arrive at the clinic, contributing to a warm and efficient front desk environment.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical staff or departments as needed.
- Schedule appointments for patients using the electronic health record (EHR) system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date calendars.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and clear communication regarding care plans and appointments.
- Assist with preparing examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary medical supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and organize supplies to maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Collect and document patient history, perform routine diagnostic tests and screenings, and administer vaccinations under the supervision of licensed medical staff.
- Maintain detailed and confidential administrative and medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and the practice's policies.
- Support office-based care by preparing patients for examinations and assisting with minor clinical procedures as directed.
- Perform additional administrative or clinical tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program or currently enrolled; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
- Minimum of one to two years of experience in a medical setting, preferably within a family practice or similar environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, with the ability to accurately enter and maintain patient information.
