Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - Summary
- Serve as a key support for both clinical and administrative functions within a medical practice.
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered atmosphere.
- Facilitate seamless communication among patients, providers, and external healthcare partners.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Clinical Support:
- Conduct initial patient triage and provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed providers.
- Administer medications as prescribed and perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs and cardiac monitor placement and retrieval.
- Support continuity of care by accessing and utilizing hospital electronic health records (EHR).
- Administrative Management:
- Coordinate with external healthcare providers, including physical therapists and home health agencies, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Complete and process disability-related paperwork, including FMLA and disability forms.
- Manage medication and referral prior authorizations efficiently and accurately.
- Office Coordination:
- Manage multi-channel communications such as phone calls, faxes, emails, and patient portal messages.
- Address patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and facilitate coordination of additional care as needed.
- Perform general office tasks, including scanning and faxing documents to maintain accurate records.
- Support front-desk operations by greeting patients, verifying insurance information, and collecting copays.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Demonstrated expertise in time management and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and general office software applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
- Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
