Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - Summary
- Full-time role supporting all aspects of patient care in a family practice clinic

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers during clinic hours with patient examinations and procedures
- Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and current medications using EMR systems
- Prepare exam rooms by ensuring all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and ready for use
- Conduct in-house testing according to CLIA-waived protocols, including performing EKGs and spirometry
- Coordinate prescriptions and support medication management, including verifying DHEC for e-prescribing and calling in medications to pharmacies
- Administer immunizations and injections in accordance with clinical protocols
- Answer patient phone calls, relay messages to providers, and return calls to patients as needed
- Maintain and update electronic medical records with accuracy
- Complete medication prior authorizations as required
- Assist providers with minor procedures and Pap smears
- Sterilize clinical equipment as needed or assigned
- Open and close the laboratory area for in-house testing and maintain compliance with safety protocols
- Notify the supervisor regarding low inventory of medical supplies
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support clinic operations

Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (Required)
- Current CPR certification (Required)
- Minimum of one year of experience preferred, but not required
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (preferably eClinicalWorks)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical setting
