Medical Assistant (CMA) - Summary
- Serve as a vital member of the primary care team, supporting both patients and providers.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet patients in person and over the telephone, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Verify patient information by conducting interviews, recording medical histories, and confirming visit purposes.
- Prepare patients for healthcare visits, including directing and accompanying them to exam rooms.
- Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and document findings accurately.
- Report patient history summaries, vaccinations, and EKG results to providers as needed.
- Collect test samples and prepare exam rooms for patient evaluations.
- Assist in basic examinations and common medical procedures as directed by providers.
- Administer injections and immunizations, following clinical guidelines.
- Order laboratory tests and communicate results to patients under provider guidance.
- Utilize EMR systems to maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Complete diagnostic and procedure coding in compliance with legal requirements.
- Educate patients on medications, diets, and post-visit instructions.
- Provide prescription refill support and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Utilize Accountable Care Organization (ACO) tools to help patients access quality healthcare services.
- Maintain a safe and secure workplace by adhering to established protocols and legal regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
- Minimum of one year of experience with EMR systems (preferred).
- At least one year of experience taking vital signs (preferred).
- BLS Certification (preferred).
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (preferred).
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (required).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology.
- Excellent professionalism, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- High level of written and verbal communication proficiency.
- Strong administrative, EMR, and computer skills.
