Medical Assistant (CMA) Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our internal medicine team on a full-time basis. The Medical Assistant (CMA) will play a vital role in supporting patient wellness by facilitating Medicare wellness appointments and performing essential nursing functions under physician supervision. This position offers an opportunity to work directly with a diverse patient population and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Medicare wellness appointments for patients, ensuring all required assessments and documentation are completed accurately.
- Record patient vitals, medical history, and reconcile medication lists as part of the intake process.
- Document all patient interactions and clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, utilizing platforms such as eClinicalWorks as applicable.
- Collaborate closely with physicians to ensure comprehensive care and proper documentation of wellness visits.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in handling patient information and adhere to all privacy regulations.
- Deliver high-quality customer service, demonstrating empathy and professionalism with every patient encounter.
- Adapt to the dynamic needs of an internal medicine practice by multitasking and managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Promote a positive and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and clinical team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
- Minimum of two years of relevant medical experience, ideally in an internal medicine or clinical setting.
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks EMR software is considered an advantage.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated adaptability and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to regular and reliable attendance.
