At Decypher, you will utilize industry-leading technologies such as Automated Call Distribution (ACD) systems and TRICARE Online to manage inbound and outbound communications, schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and support both primary and specialty care operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, verifying patient eligibility, and facilitating coordination between patients, providers, and clinic support staff. Your expertise will directly contribute to the overall mission of providing quality care to those who serve our nation.
Working as a Medical Administrative Assistant, your ability to handle confidential information, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and communicate effectively will be paramount. Medical Administrative Assistant - Summary
- Provide essential administrative and clerical support within a Medical Treatment Facility

Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and triage inbound and outbound phone calls and electronic communications
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments using established systems
- Coordinate and track patient referrals, including walk-in assistance
- Verify patient eligibility and maintain accurate records management
- Generate, receive, and deliver telephone messages to medical providers and clinic staff
- Utilize and maintain knowledge of medical terminology, forms, and records management practices
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and DoD privacy regulations
- Attend required training sessions and remain up-to-date on relevant policies and procedures
- Perform additional administrative and clerical duties to support overall medical operations
- Direct incoming calls to the appropriate departments or resolve inquiries independently

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an administrative assistant program preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in a medical office setting with scheduling or referral management
- Customer service experience and training strongly preferred
- Typing proficiency of at least 50 words per minute
- General office and clerical skills, including use of standard office equipment
- Understanding of medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and professional communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Access, Excel)
- Familiarity with TRICARE benefits, medical terminology, and records management a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA, DoD privacy regulations, and relevant healthcare guidelines
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and communicate effectively by phone
